今回はシドニー市内にあるカフェ、
「Skittle Lane」
に行ってきました。

This time, I went to a cafe in Sydney called
‘Skittle Lane’.
このカフェは何処にある? Where is this cafe?
このカフェはシドニー市内King Street沿いにあります。
This café is located along King Street in downtown Sydney.
Address : 40 King St Sydney NSW 2000
ザグレースホテル(The Grace Sydney)の近くにありので見つけやすいです。
It’s located near The Grace Sydney, so it’s easy to find.
なぜこのカフェ? Why this café?
今回このカフェを選んだ理由なのですが、「Sydney Popular Cafe」とグーグルで検索したらこのカフェが出てきたのです。
もちろんこのカフェだけでなく多くのカフェが出てきましたが、グーグルに掲載されてある店内の写真を見て、「このカフェ良いかもしれない。」と思い選びました。
The reason I chose this café this time is that when I searched for ‘Sydney Popular Cafe’ on Google, this café came up.
Of course, many cafés appeared, not just this one, but after looking at the photos of the interior posted on Google, I thought, ‘This café might be nice,’ and decided to choose it.
こちらが実際私が訪れた時の店内の様子。
店内は白色で窓も大きく陽の光が入ってきてとてもシンプルで明るい感じで、スッキリしている内装です。
This is what the inside of the cafe looked like when I actually visited.
The interior is white with large windows letting in plenty of sunlight, giving it a very simple and bright feel, and the decor is clean and uncluttered.
行ってみると When I went there
King Street 沿いにあるので直ぐに見つけることが出来ました。
It’s along King Street, I was able to find it right away.
お店の入口は雰囲気いいです。
The entrance of the cafe has a nice atmosphere.
建物の中に入るとお店がありました。
大きくない店内ですがガラス窓が大きいので店内が明るいです。
When I entered the building, there was a cafe inside.
The cafe isn’t very big, but the large glass windows make the interior bright.
余計な装飾が無くスッキリしています。
It’s clean and simple, without any unnecessary decorations.
壁にはコーヒー豆が飾ってありました。もちろん購入することができます。
Coffee beans were displayed on the wall. Of course, we can purchase them.
メニューが見当たらない Can’t find the menu
早速コーヒーをオーダーしてみました。
私はいつもフラットホワイトをオーダーするのですが、よく見ると驚いたことにコーヒーのメニューが見当たらないのです。
私はフラットホワイトをいつもオーダーするので困りませんが店員さんに聞いたところ、
「コーヒーの種類は決まっているのでわざわざメニューを用意していない」
との事でした。
たしかに、その時のプロモーションやおすすめなどはメニューとしてあれば嬉しいですが、フラットホワイトやカプチーノなどコーヒーはコーヒー。コーヒーのメニューが無くてもオーダーは出来るし作ることもできる。
私は妙に納得してしまいました。
I tried ordering a coffee.
I always order a flat white, but to my surprise, I couldn’t find a coffee menu anywhere.
I would appreciate it if promotions or recommendations were listed on the menu, but coffee is coffee, whether it’s a flat white or a cappuccino. Even if there isn’t a coffee menu, you can still order and make coffee.
コーヒー Coffee
上の写真がオーダーしたコーヒーです。ラテアートがとても綺麗なフラットホワイトです。
さてそのコーヒーですが、
ちょっと強めのコーヒーを感じホンの少しだけ鼻に香りが抜けてきます。なので仕事で行き詰まった時や気合いを入れ直すにはもってこいのコーヒーだと思います。
またコーヒーの苦味を感じないので後味が非常に良いです。
仕事の合間とか気分転換にはとても良いと思います。
仕事の合間にコーヒーを買いに来るお客様が多いように見えました。
The photo above is of the coffee I ordered. It’s a flat white with very beautiful latte art.
About this coffee:
It has a slightly strong coffee taste, and just a little bit of the aroma reaches your nose. So I think it’s a perfect coffee for when you get stuck at work or need to refocus yourself.
Also, since you don’t feel the bitterness of the coffee, the aftertaste is very pleasant.
I think it’s very good for taking a break or refreshing your mind during work.
It seemed like there were many customers coming in to buy coffee during breaks from work.
店内写真に写っているお客様の服装から見ても観光客風でもなく若い子達でもなくこの辺りで仕事をしている感じの人達。仕事の合間や休憩にここのコーヒーを買いに来ている感じです。
Judging from the clothing of the customers in the photos inside the store, they don’t look like tourists or young kids; they seem like people who work around here. It feels like they come here to buy coffee during breaks or in between work.
コーヒー豆の販売 Selling Coffee Beans
店内を見渡すとディスプレイのように飾られているコーヒー豆があります。もちろん購入することも出来ます。またホームページ上から購入することも可能です。
Looking around the cafe, you can see coffee beans displayed like decorations. Of course, you can also purchase them. Additionally, it is possible to buy them online from the website.

今回訪れたお店はKing Streetにありシドニー市内中心地にありましたが他にもお店があるんです。
The cafe I visited this time was on King Street in the heart of Sydney, but there are also other locations.
