今回はグリーブ(Glebe)にあるラーメン屋さん、「Ramen Bar Goku (ラーメンごくう)」に行ってきました。

ラーメンごくうは何処にある Where is Ramen Goku?

今回訪れたラーメン屋さん、Ramen Bar Goku (ラーメンごくう)はシドニー市内からバスで10分ほどのサバーブGlebe(グリーブ)のメインストリートグリーブポイントロードにあります。

住所は、30 Glebe Point Road になります。

The ramen reataurant I visited this time, Ramen Bar Goku (ラーメンごくう), is located on Glebe Point Road, the main street in the suburb of Glebe, about a 10-minute bus ride from downtown Sydney.

The address is 30 Glebe Point Road.

シドニーセントラル駅からバスもしくはライトレールに乗って行けますしこの距離であれば歩いていこうと思えば行けます。

You can get there by taking a bus or light rail from Sydney Central Station, and it’s also within walking distance.

＊シドニーの公共交通機関を利用するのであればオパールカード(Opal Card)は必需品です。

＊If you are going to use public transportation in Sydney, an Opal Card is a necessity.

グリーブはどんなサバーブ? What kind of suburb is Glebe?

さてそのラーメンごくうがあるグリーブ(Glebe）とはどんな感じのサバーブ(郊外)なのか?

So, what kind of suburb is Glebe, where that ramen restaurant Goku is located?

場所はシドニー中心地から西へ2〜3kmほどにあるインナーハーバー沿いのサバーブ（郊外）でシドニーセントラル駅からバス、ライトレールで行くことが出来ます。

The location is a suburb along the inner harbor, about 2 to 3 kilometers west of Sydney’s central area, accessible by bus and light rail from Sydney Central Station.

ビクトリア様式のテラスハウスや古い教会など歴史を感じる建築物が多くあり落ち着いた雰囲気を醸し出しています。オーガニックカフェやビーガン向けのレストランが多く、ヘルシー志向の人に人気の場所でもあります。またシドニー大学(Sydney University)やUTSが近くにあるので学生が多く集まる場所でもあります。

There are many historical buildings that evoke a sense of history, such as Victorian-style terrace houses and old churches, creating a calm atmosphere. There are many organic cafes and vegan restaurants, making it a popular place for health-conscious individuals.

歴史的な空気が混ざり合うエリアで、学生、アーティスト、長年住む地元の人々が多く暮らしています。

Additionally, with Sydney University and UTS nearby, it is also a place where many students gather.It is an area where historical vibes mix, with many students, artists, and long-time local residents living together.

ブラックワトルベイ(Blackwattle Bay )やロゼールベイ(Rozelle Bay )に面しており散歩道や公園（Bicentennial Parkなど）が整備されていて湾岸沿いの自然を楽しむことも出来ます。

Blackwattle Bay and Rozelle Bay are nearby, and there are walking paths (such as Bicentennial Park). You can also enjoy the nature along the waterfront.

そして大きなブロードウェイショッピングセンターもあり買い物も便利ですし駐車場(確か3時間無料)もありますので車でも来ることが出来ます。年内に営業開始予定の新しいフィッシュマーケットも近くにできるようで準備が進められています。

There is also a large Broadway shopping centre which makes shopping convenient, and there is a parking lot (I believe it’s free for 3 hours), so you can come by car as well. A new fish market is also being prepared nearby, scheduled to open by the end of the year.

さて入店しました。

まずは入口に貼ってあるメニュー。

Well, I’ve entered the restaurant.

Firstly, the menu posted at the entrance.

インパクトがあります。

This is the inside of the restaurant.

お店に入るとすぐにレジがありオーダーと支払いを先に済ませます。大きなメニューが壁に貼ってありますし小さいメニューがレジ前にもあります。

When you enter the restaurant, there is a register where you place your order and make your payment first. There is a large menu posted on the wall, and there is also a small menu in front of the register.

それほど大きくない店内ですが掃除が行き届いていて清潔感があります。

平日のランチ一番乗りだったのでまだ誰もいませんでした。

The restaurant is not very large, but it is well cleaned and has a sense of hygiene.

I went for lunch on a weekday, I was the first customer.

オーダー Order

今回私は、豚骨ごくうラーメン Goku Ramen TONKOTSU Soup $18.15($17.90+サーチャージ$0.25)をオーダーしました。

This time, I ordered the Tonkotsu Goku Ramen Soup for $18.15 ($17.90 + surcharge $0.25).

*支払いにサーチャージが付いているのはカードで支払ったからです。現金で支払わなくてカード払いだと別途でサーチャージがつきます。

*The surcharge on the payment is because it was made with a card.If you pay by card instead of cash, an additional surcharge will be applied.

しかし実はこのラーメン屋さんの特徴でもあるスープで選ぶのに苦労しました。

However, I actually struggled to choose because of the soup, which is also a characteristic of this ramen restaurant.

上の写真を見て頂けると分かるのですが、左上から醤油(Shoyu)、左下に味噌、Miso)、右上に豚骨(Tonkotsu)、そして右下に塩(Shio)の4種類のスープがありどれか選べれるようになっています。なのでどれを選んで良いのか迷いました。

As you can see in the picture above, there are four types of soup: 醤油(Shoyu) in the top left, 味噌 (Miso) in the bottom left, 豚骨 (Tonkotsu) in the top right, and 塩 (Shio) in the bottom right, allowing you to choose any one of them. So I was unsure which one to pick.

結局お店の名前がついているラーメンを選び自分が好きなスープ(豚骨スープ)を選びました。

In the end, I chose the ramen with the name of this restaurant on it and selected the broth I like (tonkotsu broth).

ラーメン登場 The Ramen

さて実食です。このラーメンの豚骨スープは雑味を一切感じることなく奥深い味でスープがトッピングと麺を優しさで包んでいるように感じました。

2枚ついているチャーシューの味付けも絶妙でした。

Now it’s time to eat. The tonkotsu broth of this ramen had a rich flavour without any off-tastes, making it feel like the soup gently enveloped the toppings and noodles. The seasoning of the two slices of Chashu ( Pork Slice) was also exquisite.
