今回はロックスにある老舗カフェ “ラ ルネッサンス パティセリー La Renaissance Patisserie “に行ってきました。

ロックス(The Rocks)はどんな所? How was the Rocks?
このお店があるロックス（The Rocks）ですが、シドニー中心部シドニーハーバーブリッジ近くに位置し、オーストラリアで最も歴史のある地域になります。
この日はサーキュラーキーに豪華客船が泊まっていました。(写真下)
車の大きさから船の大きさがわかると思います。近くまでよって見ましたがカナリ迫力がありました。
This shop is in The Rocks, which is located near the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the center of Sydney and is one of the most historic areas in Australia.
On this day, a luxury cruise ship was docked at Circular Quay. (Photo below)
I thought you could get an idea of the ship’s size by comparing it to a car. I got up close to take a look, and it was pretty impressive.

このロックス(The Rocks)は、オーストラリア入植の地として知られており、歴史を感じる石造りの街並みや古い建物が今も残っています。また週末にはマーケットが開催され歴史を感じる街並みの中でマーケットを楽しむことも出来ます。
The Rocks is known as the site of Australia’s early settlement, and you can still see the historic stone streets and old buildings. On weekends, there’s also a market, so you can enjoy it while walking through the historic streets.

シドニーのロックス(The Rocks)にある “ラ ルネッサンス パティセリー La Renaissance Patisserie and Cafe” は、1976年創業の老舗フランス菓子店で、シドニーを代表するパティセリーの一つです。
歴史あるロックスの石造りの街並みに溶け込でいるお店で中庭があるカフェです。
店名のRenaissanceは、「ルネッサンス(文芸復興）」を意味しており、本格的なフレンチペストリーを楽しめます。

50周年記念 Celebrating 50 Years
今年(2026年)6月某日にこのお店を訪れたのですが、お店が創業50周年を祝っていました。
お店入口付近に、
「PATISSERIE CELEBRATING 50 YEARS」
の文字がありました。
I visited this shop on a certain day in June this year (2026), and the shop was celebrating its 50th anniversary.

いざ店内へ Let’s head inside the store
お店の中に入ってすぐ沢山のスイーツたちが出迎えてくれました。
When I walked into the shop, a bunch of sweets greeted me.
綺麗で美味しそうなスイーツ達。
Beautiful and delicious-looking sweets.
見ているだけで嬉しくなってきました。
このお店には中庭があるのですが、それは店内を通り抜け奥へ行かなければなりません。
Just looking at it makes me happy.
This shop has a courtyard, but you have to go through the inside of the store to get to it.
お店の奥へ行き中庭に出ます。
Go to the back of the shop and step out into the courtyard.
中庭に入ると心地よいBGMが流れていて表とは別世界。とても静かで時間の流れがゆっくりしていて、ちょっとしたオアシスです。
お客様は居たのですがカップルは当然の如く2人だけの世界へ。コーヒー片手にテレビ電話をしている人、新聞を読んでいる人など、それぞれの時間を楽しんでいるように見えました。
When I enter the courtyard, a pleasant BGM is playing, and it feels like a different world from the outside. It’s very quiet, the flow of time is slow, and it’s like a little oasis.
There were some customers, The couple naturally seemed to have a world of just the two of them. Other people were video calling with a coffee in hand, and some were reading the newspaper, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their own time.

いい感じの中庭です。

コーヒー Coffee
入口に戻ってコーヒーをオーダーしました。
中庭にいることを伝えると持ってきてくれました。
I went back to the entrance and ordered a coffee.
I told them I was in the courtyard, and they brought it over for me.
綺麗なラテアートです。
私はいつもフラットホワイトをオーダーします。ここでも同じでフラットホワイト(サイズはスモール$5.00)をオーダーしました。
ここのコーヒーですが(写真上)見た目以上にフォームミルクがきめ細かい。口当たりが非常によくコーヒーの濃厚さを感じました。
口に入れると一気に濃厚なコーヒーが広がりズンと響くのですが後に引かないのです。
It’s a beautiful latte art.
I always order a flat white. It was the same here, so I ordered a flat white too (small size $5.00).
The coffee at this place (top photo) has foam milk that’s finer than it looks. It feels really smooth in my mouth and I can really taste the richness of the coffee.
When I put it in my mouth, the rich coffee flavuor spreads all at once and hits hard, but it doesn’t linger.
スイーツをオーダー Order Sweets
コーヒーを飲んでいると表にディスプレイされていたスイーツ達を思い出してしまいついついスイーツをオーダーしてしまいました。
店内に戻りスイーツが並んでいるショーケースからビバルディを選びました。
While I was drinking coffee, I remembered all the sweets that were displayed and ended up ordering some sweets without thinking.
I went back into the shop and picked Vivaldi from the showcase full of sweets.
中庭に戻りコーヒーと一緒に頂きました。
このビバルディ、ミルクチョコレートとヘーゼルナッツのムースは絶品。
コーヒーとのマッチングを考えられた甘さなので、1個$11.50とちょっとお高い思うけどそれに見合うクオリティ。
コーヒーだけでもホッと着くことができますが間違いなく午後のティータイムには嬉しい逸品。
I went back to the courtyard and enjoyed it with coffee.
This Vivaldi, the milk chocolate and hazelnut mousse, is exquisite.
The sweetness is designed to go well with coffee, so I think $11.50 for one is a bit pricey, but the quality matches the price.
Even just with coffee, you can feel relaxed, but it’s definitely a delightful treat for afternoon tea.

イベント Events
このお店があるロックス(The Rocks)ですが週末にはマーケットが行われたり毎年7月には7月のクリスマス(Christmas in July)が行われたりとイベントが結構行われております。この日はバンクシーの展示会が行われていました。
This shop is in The Rocks, which hosts a market on weekends and has events like Christmas in July every year. On this day, there was a Banksy exhibition going on.
